Weekend Retreat At Lake Eildon

The Age

Saturday May 9, 1998

GRAHAM BETLEY

GOUGH'S Bay, a sleepy hamlet on the banks of Lake Eildon, is an ideal weekend retreat and base for a variety of water activities, as well as golf, horse riding, bushwalking or just plain relaxing.

It has multiple boat ramps to cater for all the water levels that occur at different times of the year.

This modern holiday house, in Grandview Drive, is on a high, level block.

Built of cedar, it is painted cream with green trim and includes a double, lock-up garage to safely house a ski boat and any other leisure accessories a family acquires.

Inside, there is a warm, country atmosphere, featuring slanted pine wall linings, cathedral ceilings with exposed oregon beams and compressed straw-board panelling.

The living room has a canopy-style open fireplace with brick surrounds and a polished floor, while the three bedrooms are carpeted.

A deck outside the living area is covered by a pergola and surrounded by railings - ideal for outdoor meals or entertaining.

The fully furnished property is for private sale through the owner, Geoff Santos, for $97,000.

Mr Santos can be contacted after hours on 9848 5608 or during business hours on 9899 4500.
